Da DENG, graduated from China University of Political Science and Law, before working in leading law firms in the field of intellectual property in China for over 8 years before joining East IP in 2024.

Da has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters including areas of intellectual property and competition litigation, intellectual property compliance, trademark right granting and verification, foreign trademark protection, copyright and domain name protection, etc.

  • Representing Tencent in unfair competition litigation related to game cheating software and obtaining favorable judgment. This case was collected as one of ten typical intellectual property cases related to digital economy in Beijing Haidian District People’s Court.
  • Representing Shopify defending in copyright infringement litigation and obtaining favorable judgment where the plaintiff’s claims were totally dismissed. This case was collected as a typical Cross-Border Electronic Commerce case in Guangzhou Internet Court.
  • Representing Tencent in copyright infringement and unfair competition litigation related to cloud gaming, and obtaining the first injunction related to cloud gaming in China’s Mainland.
  • Representing Xiaoyezi in computer software infringement litigation related to piano App and obtaining favorable second instance judgment made by The Supreme People’s Court of the PRC by overturning unfavorable first instance judgment.
  • Representing Sina in copyright infringement litigation related to operation of portal website and obtaining favorable retrial judgment made by Beijing High People’s Court by overturning unfavorable original judgments.
  • Representing Bolei Electric in contract litigation related to computer software development and obtaining favorable judgment made by Shanghai High People’s Court.
  • Representing State Development and Investment Corporation in trademark infringement and unfair competition litigation, obtaining favorable judgment made by Guangdong High People’s Court and having client’s “国投” trademark first recognized as well-known by judicial authorities.
  • Representing Dyson in trademark infringement and unfair competition litigation, and obtaining favorable judgment made by Sichuan High People’s Court.
  • Representing Jiangxiaobai in retrial of administrative litigation concerning declaration of invalidity of “江小白” and related trademarks and obtaining favorable judgment made by The Supreme People’s Court of the PRC by overturning unfavorable original judgments.
